About Us:
Since
1995, Jon has developed extensive
experience and knowledge of the Internet and of Web Design since
first learning the basics while working for Virginia Tech from 1986 to
1995.
Combining
this experience and his on-going quest for knowledge, he adds his
background in
art, graphics, design, layout, lithography and photography to his
client's needs.
Jon has
worked within a variety of venues and with
craftsmen,
artists
and small to
medium sized businesses in regard
to their unique internet presence and diverse promotional requirements.
In the ever changing world of the Internet and Web Site
development, Jon continues to stay abreast of
the latest advances, providing practical input, guidance and support to clients
for their respective websites.
Besides
his full time involvement through CountryView Studios, Jon also does
quite a bit of freelance and "ghost" web work for other design and graphic
companies as well as being a freelance "ghost writer".
Though
virtually all web work taken on by CountryView Studios is done hands-on
by
Jon, he also directly oversees any work performed
by staff or by the close knit community of freelance
professional scripters, artists and programmers with whom he
and they
provide
services for one another as needed.
Prior to developing CountryView
Studios' Floyd Va. Web & Graphics
Services, Jon
worked in broadcast radio producing, programming and hosting
entertainment and
news/information programs for commercial and public radio stations including
Floyd County's very first radio station, WGFC.
He owned and
operated one of the first on site offset print and publishing shops in
Floyd, the
Village Print Shop.
He is a published poet, journalist and photographer and continues to
work on various creative art and literary projects in his "countryview
studio"
located along the forest's edge
on his farm on the Appalachian Plateau.
Jon and his wife
maintained a
private domestic and feral animal rescue and shelter on their farm for
over twenty years
paying for all animals' needs out of their own pocket.
They
continue with their slightly
downsized animal rescue
while growing organic blueberries, strawberries and culinary
herbs and spices on their mountainside farm in the Blue Ridge
Mountains.
They have been members of Floyd's agricultural and creative
community since the 1970's.
